Annual Camping Trip Is Upon Us! August 22-25

The camping trip and guild gathering that we have all come to love and look forward to is upon us again. Starting Thursday, LOA members from all over the United States will be descending upon Barryville, NY, and the Cedar Rapids Campground.
Twenty feet from the Delaware River is home to our annual camping trip. With our huge 10-ft fire ring that is easily seen from Saturn, the big-ass-tent/pavilion, our trademark 50 ft. flag pole, disco ball, homemade bamboo bar, potato guns and megaphones and shots and food and poker tournament, it will easily be an event that will top all other LOA gatherings.
This year we have all new prizes for our First Loser, as well as our final three poker players. New this year is the Beer Bitch Cowbell, which will be worn by our first loser, providing an easy to hear solution to our beer gulping needs. Yes, our beer bitch is the life of the party and celebrated all year long via our forums, the YouTube community, and shock sites all over the world. You aren't going to want to miss it.

LOA Custom Poker Cards Arrive!

A few weeks ago Telloran suggested that we create our own playing cards. I decided to look into things some more and asked our members if they would share the costs involved to make this a reality.
The design was approved by everyone and we placed an order for 250 casino-quality decks which arrived just a few days ago. Each person received five decks of cards for their contribution.

Star Trek Online is Alive and Well... and Living at Cryptic

Keen-eyed reader Jester has alerted us to an interesting clue that might be Cryptic's way of telling us what their other MMO in development might be. On their front page, Cryptic has a small countdown clock with a lovely space background, but no other text over it.
Over at Star Trek fansite Trekcore, they've posted a ton of the concept artwork that had been previously done by Perpetual for the Star Trek Online before it got canceled. One of the pieces is the same blue-washed planet scene immediately discernible as the background for Cryptic's countdown timer. We've inset the clock into the concept piece for your viewing pleasure above. Is this a smoking gun? Or, rather, a plasma-venting core?
As the Cryptic timer winds down, Star Trek fans found yet another sign of the impending unveiling at the upcoming Star Trek Convention site which features a not-so-mysterious "Star Trek Online Revealed" event on Sunday August 10.
The Hailing Frequency fan site will have a live coverage of the convention and we'll bring you the latest development!
Update: Cryptic Studios posted an ad in Game Career Guide e-zine (pg. 42) hiring for Star Trek Online, officially confirming their involvement.
